Anita Cepuritis’ practice involves various aspects of intellectual property relating primarily to patents and patent-related litigation matters.

Prior to joining the Firm, Anita Cepuritis was a legal intern at a major research institute assisting the Chief Patent Counsel with patent-related matters; and was a legal intern in the Law Offices of a Chicago-based law school, Patent Legal Clinic.

Anita Cepuritis’ experience includes that of a staff scientist responsible for database design, environmental file review, and management of the preparation of environmental reports involving a pending lawsuit for an environmental consulting corporation dealing primarily with soil and ground-water contamination.

In her pre-law career, Anita Cepuritis was an assistant biochemist for an environmental research institute where she was involved with environmental microbiology and toxicology analysis and assessment, and a university hydrology intern conducting chemical remediation research directed to removal of soil contaminants. In addition, she is the founding principal of a research company producing customized detailed competition and demographic maps for site development plans and customized consumer and trade area profiles using Regis GIS mapping programs.

Anita Cepuritis holds a B.S. degree in Biochemistry from the University of Arizona and an M.S. degree from the University of San Diego with a concentration in Marine Science. She had a University of San Diego Marine and Environmental Studies Fellowship and University of San Diego Graduate Grant. Her Master’s Thesis evaluated the exercise effects on insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I), insulin-like growth factor binding proteins (IGFBPs), and cortisol in juvenile white seabass using radioimmunoassay and western ligand blot analysis. Her Thesis work was utilized as part of a successful SeaGrant application for further related research. Anita Cepuritis received her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law, where she held a Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation Recognition Scholarship. Anita Cepuritis is admitted to practice in Illinois and California and the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois.

Anita Cepuritis’ foreign language skills include fluency in Latvian, and conversation level French. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, and the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago. Additionally, she is Rescue Diver SCUBA certified.
