Robert Caliri has been in private practice for over thirty-five years, focusing primarily upon the protection of trademarks and procurement of trademark registrations, domestically and internationally.

Robert Caliri has counseled clients on a wide variety of trademark matters, and prepared opinions on trademark availability. He has prepared and prosecuted trademark applications in the United States Patent and Trademark Office and in most countries of the world. In addition, he has handled trademark licensing and transfers, and has been involved in appeals and in opposition and cancellation proceedings, in the United States and in many other jurisdictions.

Robert Caliri has handled trademark portfolios for companies located in the United States and in various other countries. His clientele represents diverse areas of business, including cosmetic and pharmaceutical products, industrial and agricultural machinery, sports equipment, philosophical and scientific publications, food and vitamin products, musical instruments, paints, and household appliances, as well as business management, employment, and hotel services.

Academically, Robert Caliri earned a B.A. degree in history from Cornell University. After serving in the United States Marine Corps, he earned a J.D. degree from the School of Law of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Robert Caliri is admitted to practice in Illinois, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

His professional memberships include the Chicago Bar Association and the International Trademark Association.
