Mrs. Kenney has prepared and prosecuted domestic and foreign patent applications relating to hair and skin care products, household and chemical specialty products, industrial chemical and refining processes, industrial cleaning devices, pharmaceutical arts, medical treatments and diagnostic products, and consumer products and devices. Mrs. Kenney's legal experience has included prosecution of patent interferences, handling of oppositions in the European Patent Office, preparing and prosecuting trademark applications domestically and abroad, licensing matters, copyright matters and counseling clients.

Mrs. Kenney's pre-law industrial experience encompasses over twenty years of research and application chemistry for leading manufacturers of health and beauty aid consumer products and household and chemical specialty industrial products. During her industrial career, she did basic research on the interaction of cosmetics on skin and hair, and worked on exploratory applications of new raw materials and product concepts for all types of personal care and foot care products and related devices.

Prior to entering law school, Dolores headed her own consulting firm and provided technical support services to consumer product and industrial product manufacturers, chemical specialty houses, testing laboratories, and other consultants. Mrs. Kenney has authored articles in trade periodicals for the cosmetic, perfume and candy industries and professional association newsletters on the subject of trademarks, patents, technology, as well as major articles, and book reviews. She authored a chapter on Intellectual Property Issues for the cosmetic industry treatise, Harry’s Cosmeticology, 8th Edition, as well as articles on proper laboratory notebook keeping and a survey of patents in a cosmetic industry trade journal.

Mrs. Kenney has a B.S. degree cum laude in chemistry from the University of St. Francis, and received the Alumni Professional Achievement Award in 2001. She also has a C.B.A. from Keller Graduate School of Management and a J.D. degree from Chicago Kent College of Law - Illinois Institute of Technology. She is admitted to practice in Illinois and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Her professional and technical memberships include the American, Chicago, Illinois State, and Women’s Bar Associations, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, International Trademark Association, American Chemical Society, Society of Cosmetic Chemists, and the Institute of Food Technologists. Mrs. Kenney also is fluent in Spanish.
